Our Annual

Since we created Swiss Select Travel in 2014, it was important for us to help others, for this reason, we give part of our earnings to NGOs.

Since 2014 our annual donation was granted to :

Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation

The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation is an international charity foundation based in Trogen, Switzerland. It was founded by Walter Robert Corti in 1946. His main objective was to establish a Children’s village that provides accommodation for European war orphans in Switzerland after World War II. Today, the activities of the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation remain firmly centered on the guiding principle of its founder: «Let us build a world in which children can live.»

The Children’s Village in Switzerland provides children an opportunity to engage with complex topics – racism, discrimination, identity – in an international environment. The Children’s Village is a place for children to gather valuable experiences in the context of intercultural exchange projects. The direct encounter between children from Switzerland and other countries from the European continent is a key aspect of the concept. Dialogue with children of the same age help them overcome prejudice in favor of mutual understanding. Each year, more than 3000 children participate in exchange projects. The projects teach them the foundations of peaceful coexistence with one another.

In addition to that, the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation has several projects in East Africa, Central America, South-East Asia and South-East Europe. Together with local partner organisations, it helps disadvantaged children and youths exercise their right to a good education, thereby providing them with better opportunities for the future. The projects in the 12 countries are established on a long-term basis. They involve teaching staff, authorities and parents from the project’s outset so that the local community can help to support the projects.

In 2017, the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation supported over 180 000 children, youths and adults across four continents.
